On Sunday, June 28, 2020, Bro. Chris tested positive for COVID-19. After several on staff also tested positive and much prayer and counsel, on Wednesday, July 1, we made the tough decision to cancel all of summer camp.
Camp property was readied, food was purchased, registrations were in, and a staff was assembled, excited to serve. We all were looking forward to seeing boy and girls, teens, and families impacted by the Word of God. It was an enormous disappointment and brought uncharted waters, but the Lord has quickly given His peace and has lead us faithfully.
Having to cancel has placed the ministry in real jeopardy.
To explain our need, approximately 75% our annual income comes in during June and July. After summer bills and expenses are paid, we typically end the season with at least $60000 left over to carry us through the next 10 months. With no campers, we received no income.
The needs are more real than we have had before. We know the Lord will take care of us; He led down this path for His glory. So, we are simply asking Him to provide. Pray with us and for us!
We are thankful — eternally thankful — for anyone that can help. May God bless your sacrifice for His name’s sake.
PS. Several have asked… All the COVID-19 cases on the campus have fully recovered. Symptoms of most were mild or non-existent. Most recovered in 2-3 days and no one was hospitalized or at significant risk.
